On Sunday, September 214th, and 1:29 a.m., Mohammad Ali was working behind the front counter of the Mobil gas station at 198 West Yamato Road, when two males wearing gas masks and armed with handguns ran into the store. One suspect jumped over the counter and demanded that Ali give them the money from the cash register. After getting the cast, both suspects ran out of the gas station and then eastbound tthrough the parking lot to Boca Tecca Plaza. The suspects entered a waiting dark colored pick-up truck. A witness followed the vehicle as it drove westbound on Yamato Road, then southbound on I-95. The witness lost the vehicle on Glades Road, however, a Boca Raton police officer saw the vehicle as it approached Palmetto Park Road. The officer tried to initiate a traffic stop but the vehicle refused to pull over. Officers pursued the vehicle as it drove southbound on I-95 then exited westbound on Hillsboro Boulevard. The suspects abandoned the vehicle at the Tri-Rail station. All four occupants of the vehicle fled on foot. Boca Raton officers apprehended two suspects immediately and the other two were found a short time later, with the assistance of deputies from he Broward Sheriff's Office. All four were arrested and charged with armed robbery, wearing a mask during the commission of the robbery, fleeing and eluding, and resisting officers.
