Interesting 69 is saturated yet it is a larger engine, what is the storry with this #52?

An engine that I want to see back out is 52, but she is still in pieces on the shop floor. It'll be at least another 7 years before 52 is steamed up again. She needs a new boiler, new wheels and axles, major frame work, a new cab, cylinders machined, and major work on the tender, and it consumes a lot of time, plus care is need for the 73, 69, and the diesels.

Engine #40 is now at the CRM in Golden, just 20 miles away from Denver. She was leased to White Pass because 73 went out for an overhaul. 73 was expected to be out for 5 years, so 40 was leased for 5 years, but the overhaul only took 2 and 1/2 years, so 40 wasn't need as long as anticipated. 69 was a later addition, and steams with 73 during the summer. Another difference between 40 & 69 is, if you look at the cylinders, you will see 40 is Superheated, 69 is saturated.

I forget what year but GL 40 did go up to White Pass for some time to run. 69 originally came from white pass and went somewhere else (forget where) for a while and then was brought back to white pass.

Oh. I kept hearing something regarding one of the loop's consolidations have some sort of relationship with the WP&Y, but I wasn't really sure on it. I did notice the larger boiler and stockier proportions on #69, though - that's what made me ask. Thanks!
I heard that #69 was really Georgetown Loop #40 on loan for a couple years, or at least for long enough to celebrate the WP&YR's anniversary. Is this true?

#69 is a completely different locomotive even though they are both Outside fame 2-8-0s 69 is way heavier than 40. 69 was bought in 2001 and was restored by the white pass in 2005. also this locomotive will stay at thw white pass sharing steam duties with 73
