I went to Iceland to dive the Silfra crack in Thingvellir national park. It was even better than I had dreamt about. Totally amazing. 120m visibility.

  • you must have felt great being so close to natures power, thankyou, where are you from may I ask? we have a lake like hat in nz , not sure if you can dive in it now though, go to niue for a dive too, cheers, diabetic so don't know if they would let me but i'l never stop trying haha

  • I'm from Sweden.

  • WOW I will go there at least once in my lifetime.

    How deep does it get??

  • That's what I thought, and I thoght that it won't happen unless I really book a trip. Not wait, wait wait... =)

The depth isn't the issue in this place, but if you really want to I think you can find parts where you can go down to 40m. I don't think I bothered going deeper than 18m or so during my 4 dives there.

  • Don't get me wrong, I would book a trip today if I could afford it. Vacation time isn't a problem, it's the 2,800 u.s.d. for a round trip air fair ticket, not including everything else......wheres that bag of extra money I misplaced???? I know it's around here somewhere LMFAO.

  • LOL, I totally understand. I made 2 american friends when I was visiting Iceland. They thought the country was extremly expensive (i did too, but it was a much worse deal for them). I spent about $1300 just to go there for 3 days. It was more or less Fly-Dive-Fly. Expensive, but an experience for life. If you find your money, do the "Golden circle tour" when you're there. It's also worht while, and not too expensive. =)
