the ipad is no match for a laptop for processor power and it never will be. get that out of your mind and then you understand what the ipad is - an expensive multimedia player and toy. not laptop killer, but fun toy to casually surf the web and play apps...

When Apple makes the IPad that does not need to be hooked to a computer to activate it like activation over wifi and sells a 32GB model for $400 or less then it'll be worth buying as a laptop replacement that happens to be easy to use
