  • The episode you are refering to is the 31/1/74. I do have that episode but the D.J links are removed. The episode was wiped by the BBC so the only chance of you getting a copy is from a private collector. Sorry I can't be more help.

  • When girls looked like girls, before piercings and tattoos!!!

  • maybe, I was that 'dopey' kid ...

  • @piranhavitana To describe the kid as 'dopey' is a bit harsh; back in 1973/74 virtually all fashion-conscious young lads of his age dressed like that.

  • @coolyjojo Glitter was - and is - a horrible man, but he did make a few decent singles between 1972 and '75.

That said, he was nowhere near as talented or charismatic as the late, great Marc Bolan of T. Rex - whose reign as Britain's biggest pop star began (and finished) a couple of years before Glitter's.

  • check out the dopey kid behind Tony!

  • Hello I see you have quite a few videos of TOTP 1973/4 and I wondered if you had one I appeared in. I was standing next to Dave Lee Travis when he was introducing, I think, Ronnie Lane singing "How Come?" which was released in late 1973 and I think that's when I was there. I was wearing a long purple dress and I'd love to be able to find it and show it to my children (now that I'm 58!)

  • The Pop Star at No.1 Had such an amazing stage prescence. What a Sad Waste of Rock and Roll Talent.

  • the good old days when families all sat around the telly 2 watch top of the pops all gone now

  • The wedding being referred to is Princess Anne and Captain Mark Phillips. I remember watching that 'in colour' around someone else's house as we only had a b&w TV at the time! btw that's Pete Shelly singing with Alvin miming.

  • Ah,back when girls were slim, fresh faced with natural hair colours.
