Don't really get what the Greek plan was at that point, were they going to get Ajax to smash the gate open? Or just stab at the gate till it ran out of hit-points?

@JohnTheRock98 No...that's what it says in the Iliad, so I'm not sure why you're saying "no." Also pretty sure they didn't fight in the book, so yeah.

@JohnTheRock98 Right, Ajax doesn't die in the Iliad because the Iliad ends before Achilles dies. He doesn't, however, return home from Troy.

In the Iliad they say even Achilles wouldn't fight Ajax one on one, and doesn't even die until he off's himself.

@Hellstrike Correct. Ajax also duels Hector twice, and survives both fights. Hector afterwards is killed by Achilles and when the time comes to the fate of his armor, Ajax competes for it and is denied. He then uses the sword that Hector gifted him with after one of their fights to end his own life.
