Here is a basically mint condition Fender made in Mexico Standard Strat in Black with a Maple neck/fingerboard. I'm just jamming...plugged strsight into the amp. No effects besides the built in reverb and gain/distortion. Still using a digital camera on video mode with the built in mic, so excuse the poor picture/audio quality. Thanks for watching!

  • How well does the MIM Standard Strat stay in tune?

  • @TheTylerGeissler I can make most Fender guitars stay in tune really well, but that is from lots of experience and it is not just how you play but how well the guitar is set up and adjusted to stay in tune...how you put your strings on...how fresh they are...how you stretched and tuned them...the weather...it all matters. I have several videos of different MIM Fender Standard Strats here where I get abusive with the bar and they hold their tune...my own Strat is a slightly modified MIM...

  • Will the neck begin to yellow more to a darker yellow color as you play it for a long time?

  • @bobspie4 Maybe if you smoke heavily (or play in smokey bars a lot)...lol. This is not a Nitro finish so it probably won't turn that gorgeous amber/yellow color that the vintage ones have.

  • I picked up my MIM strat at a pawn shop for 75 buck's in almost brand new condition, with hard case and whammy bar. the fools at the pawn shop listed it in their computers as a starcaster ahahaha!

  • @frenchfriedfrenchmen That's a little less than they went for back then new but a great deal these days as long as everything works (dings and dents are no problem but a working truss rod is a must and any other screws should be able to be moved/not rusted in place...pickups should all work...a scratchy tone or volume pot is no big deal...) and hopefully it doesn't need a fret job (but a little bit of wear is no big deal as long as all the notes sound clearly and any ruts don't hamper bending).

  • @Quovardis83 I like Fender pickups...and it depends on YOUR tastes and budget...I don't like super high output clean pickups (like EMG's or Joe Bardin's)...I'm more of a slightly hot sound with just a bit more output than normal...I get all the gain I need from my amp. Duncan's and Dimarzio's have made me happy in the past...I don't like the Lace Sensors...I do like Fralin pickups (and they do expert repair on almost all pickups)...you have to put them in YOUR guitar to really know though...

  • @Quovardis83 These were just stock pickups...my own Strat is a Cream White MIM with a Maple neck/fingerboard (from a Deluxe) with Fender Custom Shop '60's pickups (hotter than a normal 50's sounding set) but I am planning on replacing them with the Fender Hot Noiseless set (I am preparing for some important live shows and can't have the hum which I don't really mind for most local gigs)...check out my channel for some demo's with that guitar and I also did one with an EMG David Gilmour set-up...

  • @greengtrs Hi what pickups did you put into your strat? and if you have time can you reccommend a couple of different types. Thanks.

  • @bobspie4 only if its a nitro finish..poly is too tough to yellow or wear..the plastic parts might tho

  • @greengtrs awh, cause i ADORE that color on necks. especially on lighter strat bodies
