@imstillworkin Now that I've watched the 'Back to Eden' movie (...and got that epiphany), I realize that when I plant my new grape vine cuttings next spring I will MULCH them. If you haven't watched the 'Back to Eden' movie, which is free, online, I highly recommend you do so immediately. 'Fall' will quickly be upon us and you'll want to implement the simple 'cover' concept so the garden will be ready for Spring.
