This is absolutely great! I thought I was the only one who realized that ageism is wrong. Thank you for supporting me and others like me. If I had a million dollars right now I would donate half to your organization, honest.

About time the voting age was fought. Go NYRA! You guys are really making a difference.

It does matter. It's not about waiting "just two more years" to vote. I care about politics, and just because I'm under 18 doesn't mean I'm too immature to possibly understand such things. If a person is really so immature that they can't understand, they won't bother. The decisions being made in this country are happening now, and they're going to affect me now - not when I'm 18. If I can pay taxes, I deserve a say in the people who make those taxes.

@KamakazeBanzai well in a way yea but all i realy ment was that it's just 2 years if you are allready 16 then i think you can wait 2 more years i did and it wasnt a big deal and either way i think it's safe to say more than 50% of teenagers dont care about voteing anyways and you do get a voice in your education you can allways petition and go to the school board meetings and present ideas
-
@hellzshotgun so your saying because of one possible person's actions, I, as a teenager, should not be allowed to decide who runs this country? I should have no voice on what education I truly want? (I want an education in film, but I'm stuck in computer literacy, learning how to use microsoft excel when I have a parent who was in software engineering) I should have no choice in whether or not I want to leave my home to travel the world instead being stuck with my parents until age 18?

Listen you Godhating hellbound perverts!Stop rebeling against your elders!Voting age must stay at 18,you're a bunch of loosers as well as queers.
-
@nyrasefl why dose it matter all that much i mean wow you have to wait 2 more years before you can vote i doubt that very many 16 year olds care about voteing
-
You morons must be brought to local police stations!
-
Please god no. Have you ever argued with an 18 year old? Letting them vote on our laws is scary.

Most major left-wing and even many right-wing political parties in Europe have come out in support of a voting age of 16 and some have already done so. But as usuall, the US is way behind. 16-17 year olds work and pay taxes, are tried as adults in court, and 17 year olds can join the military. I am expecting states like Mass., Vermont, and California to lower it within the next 40 years (states can). Then we can catch up to the rest of the world and give full adult rights to 16-17 year olds.

Unless emancipated which will cancel out being under the power of the parents. Those aren't good arguments at all since they have nothing to do showing the actual capability of individuals or in other words, they have nothing to do with physical and mental capability.
However, I have no concern for being married or smoking or even being involved into the military. There are married teenagers in the US. I'll give you the example as soon as you comment.
Are any NYRAnians in this commercial?
