This is a video basically showing some of the applications that can be used on your iPod after it has been jailbroken.

Step 1: Downgrade to 1.1.1 (if required)

1. Download the iPod touch 1.1.1 ipsw firmware file from Apple. If the downloaded file has the extension ".zip", please remove it and modify it to end up with a filename ending in _Restore.ipsw

2. Put your iPod touch into restore mode by holding down the power and home keys. Release the power button after the screen goes blank but hold the Home key until iTunes recognises your iPod in restore mode, now press and hold the Shift key on Windows or the Option key on Mac (In iTunes), then click Restore to select the 1.1.1 firmware file you downloaded earlier.

3. When iTunes asks if you want to A) Set the iPod up as a new iPod. or B) Restore from a Backup. : Choose A.
[edit] Step 2: Jailbreaking 1.1.1

1. Launch Safari

2. Visit http://jailbreakme.com, Scroll down to the bottom, click "Install AppSnapp". Safari will exit and you'll return to your springboard. Slide to unlock, you are now jailbroken. and are able to use Installer.app.
[edit] Step 3: Preparing 1.1.1 for the 1.1.2 update

1. Launch Installer.app

2. Scroll down to Tweaks (1.1.1)

3. Select OktoPrep

4. Click Install
[edit] Step 4: Update to 1.1.2

1. Connect your device to your computer

2. Launch iTunes

3. Choose your device

4. Click Update. Do NOT click on restore. If you do, everything you have done up until this point will be lost.

5. Wait forever for your device to update
[edit] Step 5: Jailbreaking 1.1.2

1. Close iTunes

2. Connect your device to your computer

3. Download and extract the 1.1.2 Jailbreak Utility. Extract it to /tmp/ if you are using a Mac.

4. On Windows, double click on windows.bat, on a Mac, double click on jailbreak.jar

5. Follow the on screen instructions.

6. Congratulations! You've jailbroken 1.1.2!

I figured that I would do some homework of my own on the subject.

Here is what I came up with. If ya want to unlock an iPhone I suggest softunlock. com

If you want to jailbreak any iPhone then I'd say go with softjailbreak. com My favorite part is that the work and don't cost a single penny.
