- It's not paranoia if they're really after you.
- In God we trust. The rest we monitor.
- It's no persecution complex - They're really after you.

A successful lawyer finds himself the target of a treacherous NSA official and his goons after receiving evidence to a politically motivated murder, the only man that can help him is a former government operative turned surveillance expert.

Robert Clayton Dean is a successful labor lawyer based in Washington DC. He has a beautiful wife and adorable son with a nice house located in Georgetown. But things take a turn for the surreal, when a chance encounter with an old friend leaves him evidence of a politically-motivated murder. On the run from a treacherous NSA official and his men, he comes into contact with a former government operative and surveillance expert, who is his only way out.

Robert dean is a mild-mannered lawyer who works in Washington D.C. He is on the trail of a kingpin named Pintero. Meanwhile, a politician named Thomas Reynolds is negotiating with Congressman Phillip Hammerson about a new surveillance system with satellites. But, Hammerson declines, that is when Reynolds had Hammerson killed, but this murder was caught on tape, and this person was being chased by Reynolds' team of NSA agents, the guy must ditch the tape, so he plants it on Dean (unbeknownst to Dean). Then, the NSA decides to get into Dean's life. That is when Dean's life began to fall apart all around him, with his wife and job both gone. Dean wants to find out what is going on. Then, he meets a man named "Brill" who tells him that Dean has something that the government wants. Thta is when Dean and Brill formulate a plan to get Dean's life back and turn the Tables on Reynolds.

When lawyer Robert Clayton Dean meets an old pal accidentally, he does not know the trouble that is going to hit him. His pal, being pursued badly, slips him a disc without Robert reckoning - before being killed. Soon, Robert is believed to have something that others want - but what? Later, he stumbles across a setup that would render him the main suspect of a gruesome murder, hadn't he dropped by. Being shown several bugs by Brill, a trustable contact of the victim, Robert learns quickly about the fire he's playing with - and decides to win instead of giving up. The murder case of a staged suicide by a U.S. congressman may cause some heads to roll, if the disc containing the proof can be found in time and delivered to its destination - by the right party, that is.

Robert Dean is just a successful and gutsy labor lawyer when he runs into an old college friend who was a big hurry. Unknown to him, that friend secretly drops a disc and viewer containing footage of a political assassination overseen by the senior advisor to the National Security Agency. Unfortunately, that politician soon learns what Dean has in his possession and secretly uses the vast resources of the NSA to find, investigate and stop him before he goes public. Soon, Dean finds himself on the run, with his assests frozen, his loved ones watched and actively hunted by NSA agents using all the survellience technology they have available. Not knowing what is going, Dean must stay one step ahead while trying to figure out the cause of this mess.

  • @TheJamesrocket much more realistic today than when the movie was made...

  • Uhhh... did I see Seth Green and Jack Black?

  • Will Smith, His best acting, Fresh Prince of Bel Air. (In my opinion)

  • I could definitely hear the high teck SDDS sounds in the trailer!

  • this movie was really good

  • a great simple movie by Will Smith, i saw this movie like 3 years ago and i really enjoyed, well i love all of his movies :)

  • anyone pick up on jon voights caharacters birthdate in the movie? 9/11/40. Main theme of the movie, resembles patriot act. 9/11 is obvious. 40, 4 years prior to 9/11 this film was being made. if his birthdate would have been 04 he would have been too old for his character in the movie. i would arrest jerry bruckheimer about this.

  • Best Line:

Robert Clayton Dean: What the hell is happening?

Brill: I blew up the building.

    Robert Clayton Dean: Why?

Brill: Because you made a phone call.

  • The scary thing is, alot of the scenarios presented in this movie are realistic. They can place tracers on you that are all but invisible to the human eye, spy on your communications-record your voice-altering it to string together words and form a sentance you did not say, and generally turn you into any person they like-a terrorist, a drug dealer, a rapist, etc. Nobody is truly safe.
