And now for a little history lesson:
This footage is about a month old. It seriously took me about 3 solid weeks to make this look the way I wanted it too. At first I approached this video with my usual smooth, flowing idea, and I rendered it, but there was something wrong, something missing from it. I decided to take another angle and try a pure black and white version of the video with a kind of classy poker-tableish look. I liked how the first couple clips went, so I rolled with it. Now, after 3 weeks of toying with time, color, velocity, and space, that thing that was missing is gone. Is the video perfect? No. Is there any way that I could impove it? Probably. But I feel pretty confident in saying that, up to this point, this is the best piece of art that I have ever created. And who knows? Maybe one day I'll come back and edit this even further. It all comes down to this: it's not about cards, or camerawork, or color. It's about aesthetics.
