This song is Rod Stewart at his absolute best and Mike and Laura do credit to him. I cannot think of the quality of this song without thinking on the Neil Young line in Cortez the Killer: "I still don't know why or how I lost my way." Could it be the Britt Ekland's and other blonde models of the world steered this young man from the kind of innovaton of Picture and May and Wind to the vanilla blather he gives us today. Was Ronnie Wood essential to his sound? Lose Ronnie, lose the sound?
Well NOT better than the original recorded cut (old Stw didnt blow anu lines on that) But life? One of the 100 rock tunes ever written . HOLLY SHIT! Madam, Stew should be asking for your autograph . As for the guitar . Lord , the most driving pulsating song in Rock history and the dude did not miss a note. Lady & Gent THAT song should be re-released . As for correcting the song to a more PC stance by ruening "slit eyed lady" to green eyed lady" that was cheesy and kudos to the unseen drummer!
Ambitious, not an easy song-- well done. Scary, but this song has been a favorite for almost 40 years, thanks for putting it out there. Also, strung right hand, played left hand? amazing job!
