One night during the difficult General Election Campaign of 3780 BC., Moses received a call to a Summit Meeting. On hearing that no, it couldn't wait till the morning, he sent for one of his two Staff Sedans and made his way up the mountain.

He didn't have his laptop so he took a tablet.....

When he arrived there, he was surprised to find The Lord in very low spirits. "Oh, Lord", he said, "can I help?"

"Ah yes, Moses... I think yours is the only human judgment I can trust. I am really troubled by the way the parties are doing things. I don't know which I should support. They have all messed up in the past, and while I am quite prepared to offer them Forgiveness, they are giving me serious misgivings about mankind's continuing to enjoy dominion. Just look at their past records and current policies...

"Their only gods are money and self-interest.
"Their campaigns are centred on the pop idol personalities of leaders.
"They preach religious hatred while claiming their laws prevent it.,
"They have oppressed the workforce with the zero-hours contract and the 7-day week,
"They penalise the poor who care for their parents.
"They have killed women and children in foreign lands and now are responsible for needless hospital deaths at home.
"Even the more honourable ministers on all sides have used their offices for extra-marital affairs.
"They have committed fraud with expense claims.
"They conduct smear campaigns against one-another.
"In the words of one of their own, they promote the politics of envy.

"What do you think I should do, Moses?"

"Well, Lord," came the reply, "if it were up to me, I'd tell them all to go to Hell."

According to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ten_Commandments :
The passage in Exodus 20 contains more than ten imperative statements, totalling 14 or 15 in all. While the Bible itself assigns the count of "10", using the Hebrew phrase aseret had'varim ('the 10 words', 'statements' or 'things'), this phrase does not appear in Exodus 20. Various religions parse the commandments differently.
I think that says rather more about the people who would run our lives than any moral code we might adopt. More and more, we need a None of the above box on the ballot paper.

  • But it looks as if you've let the bloody Tories back in Paronomeister-Moses

  • Like I said, no change -- the last lot were bloody Tories anyway: paerhaps marginally worse because they pretended otherwise.

  • marginally?? as it were.....

  • Wish I'd been there to take a few photos of you doing this!

  • Well Moseomeister, it seems you have caught the essence of the outcome. One went to hell but the other two partied to celebrate and decided to schmoozle up together.

    It'll all end in tears!

  • Politics meets performance art!
