Since the Dan Ryan Expressway's opening, the 95th/Dan Ryan station has been the southernmost end of CTA's Red Line rapid transit. In the near future, plans are to extend it to 130th St in Riverdale/Altgeld Gardens. As the southern terminal, the station is a major bus hub, and at rush hours, service levels and the number of buses pulling in all at once can be quite incredible and crowded!
CTA routes N5, N9, 29, 34, 95E, 95W, 100, 103, 106, 108, 111, 112 and 119 all serve the station, as do Pace suburban routes 352, 353, 359, 381 and 395. Greyhound and various charter bus companies also serve the station.
Here's some footage including buses on most of those routes. Bus types include CTA New Flyer D40LFs, DE60LFs and NovaBus LFSs, and Pace Orion Vs and NABI low-floor 40-footers.
These crowded, tight conditions, a maze of buses, pedestrians and accidents waiting to happen, are all part of a typical weekday rush period here on the South Side at 95th/Dan Ryan.
