@calamagrostis88 There is a stigma attached to those who do believe that we are being visited by ET's,most of it brought on by cranks and hoaxers, you dont mention the names of the scientists that you respect but you say they think that the whole thing is dubious, the scientists i respect know that we are being visited and they are not afraid to admit it,its a lot safer and easier to run with the majority.

@arobekie The proper definition of Skeptic is someone who looks at the evidence, and looks to the top scientists, to help form their opinion, always keeping an open mind. In contrast there are deniers, like global warming deniers, and true believers, like ufo true believers. Obviously we can't prove that there are no ufos, but I have not seen any hard evidence, and all the scientists that I respect the most think that the whole thing is very dubious.

I envy skeptics, they dont have to use their brains, they just keep spouting out,no evidence.

@edfeltch That theory has been blown apart because the light diminishes from each reflection.

The chambers of the pyramids were illuminated by a ingenuous series of mirrors.Modern man just can't conceive of the patience and planning involved over 600 years it took to build.

Who cares about far planets? We only care about close planets. Man, this shows some ignorance of this gentleman.

for all of you idiots. do you really believe we are the only civilization in the universe? watch Ancient aliens on youtube. i will quote "god" as an E.T. for the fact that in all religions, thousands of years ago these "GODS"the people witnessing these gods say they allcame from the sky. oh really? and wait they have ancient drawings and paintings for these events? look at the mahabara, even in the bible. these "aliens" may not look as we present them in todays culture.. but rather look like us.

@AlleUndWir your very mis informed. think logically for 5 sec cause thats about how long it will take. look at the hyroglyphs in the pyramids of gyza. first of all, the largest one has no hyroglyphs. but the smaller ones do? and why is there granite blocks that weigh up to 200 tons inside the pyramids that in no way were brought in. this will tickle your funny bone. google ancient egypt lightbulbs... torches you say? i dont think so. there is no trace of combustable smoke or fire residue. :D

The 3 most cmn arguments here (I'm an agnostic myself not necessarily a believer) do not hold up very well.
1) lots of cranks and false sightings make it a very easy secret to keep. So sightings and disclosures can just keep being denied forever absent government-disclosure or an alien body. 2) We cannot really evaluate the "odds" that aliens exist or that technology we don't understand would allow them to travel great distances. 3) What more interesting thing to visit in the universe? @thetikitony but like mr staton says were not interested in those
If there's one person who can display the logical, reasonable evidence for UFOs, it's Stanton Friedman, and believe it, there are UFOs out there, the term was made for a reason.
UFO does not necessarily mean spacecraft or aliens. At one point the B-2 Bomber was reported as a UFO and many believed it was an alien spacecraft.

The Landing on the White House Lawn theory assumes that Aliens think like us:
Lets go and invade another culture, enslave them and take all their stuff.
Lets go and visit another culture, say we come in peace offer them trinkets, give them all our diseases, corrupt their evolution so that over time they will see us as gods, stop thinking for themselves and come to rely on superstitions and religion for things they cant yet understand.
