Tribute to Templado

He died as a hero and we will never forget him

Templado, the oldest horse of the show and Frederic Pignons greatest teacher and dear friend, has never really been retired.
Templado was born in 1985
As a young stallion he came after sales into the wrong hands, when he returned he had lost all confidence in people.
Daughter Magali Delgado and her boyfriend (with who she is now married) liberty coach Frederic Pignon spent years to regain lost trust.

Templado's aggressiveness and unrest forced the set to their usual ways to work with horses to throw overboard and new development. One method that is now shown in Cavalia Horse.

Templado, het oudste paard van de show en Frédéric Pignons grote leermeester en dierbare vriend, is nooit echt met pensioen geweest. Dat wilde de hengst niet ,,Hij was eigenlijk met pensioen, maar thuis kwijnde hij helemaal weg. Dus ik haalde hem op en hij deed weer mee. Hij bloeide ervan op, aldus Pignon.

Templado werd in 1986 geboren bij de Zuid-Franse Lusitanofokkers Delgado. Als jonge hengst kwam hij na verkoop in verkeerde handen terecht, toen hij terugkeerde was hij alle vertrouwen in mensen kwijt. Dochter Magali Delgado en haar vriend (waarmee ze nu is getrouwd) vrijheidstrainer Frédéric Pignon spendeerden jaren om het verloren vertrouwen terug te winnen. Templado's agressiviteit en onrust dwongen het stel om hun gebruikelijke methoden om met paarden te werken overboord te gooien en nieuwe te ontwikkelen. Een methode die nu te zien is in paardenshow Cavalia.

this horses are so beautiful.. i think it would be amazing to have the job that the people in cavalia have. i've seen in the one time it came here, it was so amazing.

@ladylovedoll 22 is not young but it's too young for a horse to die. We have horses that have lived into their late 30's. We even have a number of horses that are still working as lesson horses in their late 20's. 22 is too young to die.

@ladylovedoll well, I agree that 22 is "not young", but if you treat your horse right, condition it properly for its specific "work", then 22 is way "too young to die"! If nothing weird happens, you can "work" your horse until it is 30 ... and it can live well into its 30s. And especially his breed matures late and can reach a nice "old" age ;-)

I researched the internet and could not find anything about the cause of his death ... and, 22 years is NOT OLD, especially for his breed. So, does anybody know what happened? On F. & M.'s homepage he is still listed ... nothing about his demise ... weird ... Whatever happened ? And why did they withdraw from Cavalia? It is impossible to find anything ...

If you ever get a chance read Templados book... it is an amazing story of courage, graciousness, spirit, charm and so much more built into the heart and soul of this one particular horse... I keep it on my coffee table and whenever someone asks I tell them the story of Templado.... how could you not love the cover picture as well ~ such beauty

I was blessed to be able to see him perform in his lifetime ~ My heart goes out to the family and friends of Templado.

~ He was truely a magnificant masterpeice of God who has returned to his kingdom in heaven ~
