There's something like that here in Berlin. It's called mitfahrgelegenheit. Basically if you want to go anywhere you just go online and see if somebody else is going there as well. I travelled from Berlin to Hamburg that way and met some really cool people. Usually you just meet them at some landmark and pay them for half the gas. It'd be great to se a website like that in the states. Maybe there is one already...

if you have to go online to a website to reserve the car,why not let members post an order.

i wish to travel form a - b at this time .

other members with regular cars can also join in and bid on that ride.

picking up people would be the same as picking up free gas !

drivers could be rated buy riders like ebay .
