I'll never forget the first time I heard Fernando Ortega. Was driving home from work and Mi Abuelito came on the radio. I had to pull off the road because the beauty & familiarity of the song - almost like a painting of northern NM captured my soul and made me cry. I bought the CD that very night & couldn't believe it was the Fernando I knew in high school. I have all of his CDs, DVD and VHS. There is no one like him, truly a gift from God.
