Imagine the word "imitatate" in this context, as your ego's way to masturbate. when you see it as such cheftonydog, you can see that the problem with imitation......is only that it is NOT THE REAL THING!!!! you are turning down the real thing, for your hand! turning down life, for thought!

i don't think there is anything wrong with imitation as long as your aware of when your doing it and when your not. Particularly inwardly. such as imitating your parents negative behaviors.

But, if you raise a child devoid of direction or things to "imitate" what can it become? What is it's potential? What if you were to keep someone unaware until they were 18 and then teach them? How would they be? They would be better than most of us, I imagine. No religious influence. No scientific influence and no influence of governement or culture. All things that work against the true expression of our spirit. But, the least should be teach a child to communicate effectively.

@Kostly So science is "working against the true expression of our spirit"?

Science works against so many aspects of being human I don't know where to start. Not only this. But, as much as government and religion, it has created the world you see today. And as you can see, it's not a very rosy picture without the glasses on. Yes, science has done many great things. It's also killed billions and made life miserable for the poor kids in africa that have to go diggin for ore for this here computer. Science is merely figuring out what exists. Then exploit it.

Names and labels. The word is not the thing... A "name" is merely used to describe, try to identify etc a thing you are referring to, talking about. So what if you have the same name? Are you the same? Are you the same as you were 1 second ago? Every 7 years your whole body will be renewed, yet you think you are the same... The only constant thing is change. Embrace ambiguity, viva Leonardo :-)
