Alexander Efros, MBA, CPA, President and Founder of Athelon Wealth Management, provides insights to business students and future CPA's at the NYSSCPA Annual Accounting Education Night in Staten Island, New York.

Mr. Efros answers student questions about various topics including getting an MBA, obtaining the CPA license, working for a Big 4 accounting firm, and starting a business. Additionally, Mr. Efros discusses the importance of having an accounting background when working in finance.

Alexander Efros, MBA, CPA, is the President and Founder of Athelon Wealth Management. Prior to founding the firm, Mr. Efros worked as an auditor in the Investment Management practice at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, a global leader in financial services.

During his time with PwC, Mr. Efros audited a wide range of mutual funds, hedge funds, employee benefit plans, and private equity funds belonging to the biggest and most reputable names in the industry. His clients included AXA Equitable, JPMorgan, Bank of New York Mellon, Ford Foundation, Franklin Templeton, and the Quantum Fund headed by renowned investor George Soros.

This unprecedented level of access and experience provided Mr. Efros with a comprehensive understanding of various complex investment vehicles, knowledge of the inner workings of world-class investment funds, and a unique perspective on the financial marketplace as a whole.

Mr. Efros currently holds the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation. He has also passed the Uniform Investment Advisor Law Exam and is FINRA Series 65 licensed.

Mr. Efros earned his M.B.A. in Professional Accounting from Rutgers Business School and his B.A. from the College of Staten Island. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) as well as the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA).
