@sombersolitude Then go to a community college & earn Associates in Civil Engineering. After 1st or 2nd term join the NG or Reserves & work for the same Army Corps of Engineers as a civilian making over 100k... Thats what my father did... People say this MOS is worth nothing to a certain degree its not true if you earn a Associates/BA/BS! My goal is to become a Engineer Officer in the NG & work for Army Corp Engineers as a Civilian. Ft Leonard Wood is boring as fuck

I'm thinking about taking this mos.. I'm a laborer in a construction company, and I'd like to become a equipment operator.. Though it'll take many years before they'll let me, so I figure I might as well accelerate and take this mos and use the ait training to help..

@SavoyTruffle78 went there for bct and yes its really in the middle of the woods

@poastman13 You are with the 84th Engineers aren't you? I was stationed there 97-2001. It was 62E back then now its 21E. Good memories!!

I am a female and I did this job for 8 years in the Reserves. When you are deployed or on AT, you will definitely get stick time on the equipment. But on drills? Forget it; you'll never get to work in your MOS.

@kehau916 I agree..........HOT FUCKING GARBAGE WITH A NEW PAINT JOB
Oh, be advised: AIT for this MOS is in Ft. Leonard Wood, aka Fort Lost in the Woods. You'll see why. It's the most depressing place on earth.
