  • norma was being lighthearted, you know funny, your supposed to laugh

  • @darkseaofempathy : Thank you for clarifying that up for me. I'll have to watch it again with that thought in mind. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the film immensely, its just that I felt Norma really hammed it up to the point of annoyance, and I consider myself to be one of her greatest fans. I simply lover her. Thank you for giving me an opportunity to view this under a different light.

  • @twilson11208 Her performance was intended to be a parody of Garbo's persona; that's why she has the overexaggerated accent and such. At first, I thought she just got carried away with the part, but after learning what her intention behind her performance was, it made a lot more sense. Great film either way!

  • bless him ... good thing he stuck mainly to acting and just being very VERY gorgeous lol. The singing and dancing ...hummm...lol

  • I love it ...he is like Groucho Marx in this routine !

  • @drobin3149

She's actually supposed to be out of step. They're meant to be a not very good dance troupe.

  • I love this film, and Clark Gable's dance routine is hilarious. Thanks for posting it. I think a previous commentator who complains about the girl being out of step is not aware that she is supposed to be out of step.

  • Why did they change the lyric from "every Sunday evening" to "every Thursday" evening here? Was mentioning people having carefree, dissipated fun on a Sunday considered inappropriate for a movie released in the late '30s?
