@darkseaofempathy : Thank you for clarifying that up for me. I'll have to watch it again with that thought in mind. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the film immensely, its just that I felt Norma really hammed it up to the point of annoyance, and I consider myself to be one of her greatest fans. I simply lover her. Thank you for giving me an opportunity to view this under a different light.

@twilson11208 Her performance was intended to be a parody of Garbo's persona; that's why she has the overexaggerated accent and such. At first, I thought she just got carried away with the part, but after learning what her intention behind her performance was, it made a lot more sense. Great film either way!

bless him ... good thing he stuck mainly to acting and just being very VERY gorgeous lol. The singing and dancing ...hummm...lol
-
I love it ...he is like Groucho Marx in this routine !

She's actually supposed to be out of step. They're meant to be a not very good dance troupe.

I love this film, and Clark Gable's dance routine is hilarious. Thanks for posting it. I think a previous commentator who complains about the girl being out of step is not aware that she is supposed to be out of step.

Why did they change the lyric from "every Sunday evening" to "every Thursday" evening here? Was mentioning people having carefree, dissipated fun on a Sunday considered inappropriate for a movie released in the late '30s?
