This movie is one my favorits of all time. Silver - morals, spirituality - keep the evil inside us a bay, once let out, watch out. Need the light of truth to lock it back up. Anamazing music, and cinamtogrphy. Mann trade mark scene, silent screem - Last of the Mohicans, and that look back, also used in the village scene of Last of Mohicans. One of the most underated- probably little understood - movies I have seeen

The SS and einsatzkommandos most likely didn't wear black uniforms in WW2, as most of the SS men traded in black uniforms for the field gray types.
However, the black uniform is a perfect backdrop to these soldiers, because you think of them as the soldiers in black who brought death.
