Savannah Monitor - Reminiscing with Creo.

This is Creo, my Savannah monitor. At one point he was staying with Kaffir2 until the day came where I got to take him. (YES, I understand that he WAS fat. I later CORRECTED his diet and he actually lost quite a bit of weight and started to look and act more healthy and then even became more active as a result.)

Sadly, Creo is no longer with me due to a tragic accident. He crawled underneath a sharp edged desk in the basement at my brother's which tore a large chunk out of his back. The cut got infected and he got very sick and would not eat despite vet care. I miss him an awful lot and I hope he is happy up in lizzy heaven because I sure do miss him! :(




The younger Savannah monitor seen in this video was given to Juan and his wife to help with the loss of their monitor, lily. They later renamed him, which I was originally led to believe was female, Chocolate.

excuse me, but would you happen to know where kaffir2 went? i had 2 of their vids as favorites ("wakey" and "taming your monkey") and now their videos/account is gone.

p.s. you can give the lizard plain, yogurt for its loose stools. if that doesn't work; see a vet.

@TheFabStringbean Kaffir2 is gone. His wife died and he left youtube. I have no idea where he's gone from there. I don't talk to him.

A lot of monitor poop may be runny due to excess water or it depends on what they have eaten. I would only give yogurt to lizard if I've just treated it for parasites or worms to replace the good gut bacteria...but I don't recommend feeding yogurt on a regular basis.

@smnavedo I think it took a year and a half to two years. He was 3 feet long full grown....Bless his little soul.

that is one unhealthy monitor. It will probroly die of its diet. Savannah diet should stand 80% of insects.
