I see the Bible and Jesus teaching to love life. But in your question you mention the maryters sacrifice. They sacrificed themselves, not others for there faith. Of course I would sacrifice myself for others (or for Jesus) but I do not think I have the right to sacrifice you for my faith. That is why I would not let you die, (that and I think it is wrong to kill or let someone else be killed if I can stop it).
And as for the rapture, that is not exactly what the Bible says or teaches. I do not believe in a literal rapture (now or in the distant future) as this is not what Jesus says. I understand your confusion on the subject but I do not support a tribulational stance.
I did not mean to imply that you were disrespectful, as you have been polite and respectful to me as well.
My point was that I disagreed with your stance (and many other Christians) on what the Bible teaches.
OK, why would I want to send people to heaven? Is that really my job? As a minister I want to convince people to want to go to heaven to be with God. That does not mean I should send them there or hurry the process along. As soneone who respects and loves life should I not honor that in what God says and does? After all as a believer I am supposed to want to make this world a better place.
"Blam!" Yeah, I suspect that Christians doubt too much to seek death. I mean they do go to the doctor for goodness sake! They wear seat belts and they allowed their "Christian nation" to make them wear seat-belts. They buy cancer policy health insurance, and won't just blatantly walk down dark alleys in large US cities with $100 bills hanging out of their pockets. These people seriously doubt that there is an afterlife. They say otherwise, but their actions speak louder than their words.

Take care and thanks again for the response.

It's a fair point. Why worry about death on Earth if they'll go to an everlasting life elsewhere?
Unless there really is nothing >.>
