@madouc575 Hi Madouc! Whole trope of the sexuality and vampirism is fairly rich. I would see this as take on sexual violence and pure physical union - Dracula leaves his home to escape to solitude and 'feasts' (flesh and blood) on women. In my view in Coppola's film Lucy is just a sexual adventure / 'prey' whilst Mina becomes a seduced lover. I agree that you could show the seduction scene in less direct fashion and it has certain kinky aspect. I'm happy to discuss this via e-mail :)

@czarnykocoor I'm aware of the symbolism but since when does a Vampire rape its prey?
Come to think it, a spoiled, promiscuous character like Lucy would not have three such men competing for her hand in marriage. Coppola's attempt to pump up the sexuality in this film is clumsy and heavy handed.

This I think is the best horror film of all time.

@madouc575 In the film Lucy is portraied as a spoiled, promiscuous character from the decadent British artistocracy and obviously Dracula abuses that. Note that in the film she wears crimson night gown and leaves her crucifix pendant on her bed - going to garden. During the scene she obviously enjoys being ravished by the vampire. At the same time Mina acts opposite.

@pfgum2 Well.. it was nod to a novel, there he transformed to a wolf when he jumped from the ship called Demeter after killing the crew. He was mistook as a dog!
