Joe è un universo a sè stante! Secondo me ha miscelato tutti i più grandi jazzisti, soprattutto i fiati, creando un proprio linguaggio.

Mi chiedo perchè le esibizioni piu belle non diventano mai un disco!

Da brivido!

@taildragger51 Django Reinhardt was one of Joe's big influences

Only Joe Pass could play this fast and melodic at the same time. Being a young guitarist, I am attracted to the fast players, like Paul Gilbert or Joe Satriani, by nature. I have learned that great guitarists don't have to play fast, but melodic and emotional, much like David Gilmour. I love Paul Gilbert and Joe Satriani, but the guitar work on this track blows me away. Thanks for sharing!

@taildragger51 I'm pretty sure a guy like Joe Pass listened to just about everyone

amazing
Joe never listened to other guitarists..he mainly got his inspiration from listening to Charlie Parker. Ironically the sound quality here reminds me of some of Parkers club sessions. (don't get me wrong . it's still great to hear! Thanks to you jazzster 123) He & Tal Farlow were ground breakers. I met Joe around about 1978 in London. Wow, what a nice guy!

joebandana: Yes, i agree with you. To me, there are NO mistakes when playing jazz. Any note can fit and if they don't it adds to the authenticity. I recall Pass saying once "If you DO make a mistake try and compensate by way of what you play straight afterwards". Very good advice which he followed.
