  • @MsBitachi Good point! They say it was always really young boys who did the girl parts ( in Shakespeare plays) because their voices were the softest.

  • It's funny though because you can't see Clara or The Nutcracker Prince. Most of the time they watch all of the dancing. Cute video. One of my favorite youtube clips! ;)

  • There is nothing untoward about Mother Ginger. She's not pregnant - those are her children under her skirt, like in many fair tales. Mother Ginger is not always a guy - not by any means. In Texas, Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison was Mother Ginger. Even with a woman, however, the character is usually in "drag." Camp is the operative term.
