@pjdscott Thats the news for you. Hype things up so they sound worse than they are. Putting "Carriages" instead of "Hoppers" on the bulitin probably doubled thier viewing figures.

there was a set of defective points on the gateshead side of the high level bridge stopping any movements . weight restrictions cab be removed in an emergency .

We will have to wait for the official report. Looks like a bearing seized or axle went on one of the wagons.

The damage to the track meant the only way in and out of Newcastle to London was via the down fast line. The slow lines, up fast and junction leading to the high level bridge where all damaged.
