I`ve been doin` it 29 years. Being a 27 jockey has been good to me. Just got a new 27G for J.J. Albanese. My motto is just keep the coal pouring out the stacks .

how much depth can the scraper take off in 1 pass?
-
@heinousoperator Actually the machine does not sit higher but the cab itself
-
@heinousoperator i have ran an E and F and G all with the same size tires, i guratee you that the F sits higher
-
@Vapor300 Actually, i just checked the dimensions between the four models. Height to top of cab on the B, E and F is 11ft 1in, the G 11ft 3in. Again.... the tire size will change the height on all those models
-
@heinousoperator No they are not, the F's and G's cabs sit about a foot higher then the E's and B's this is becuase of a new hitch design that Cat did when going fre the E series to the F
-
@heinousoperator ??? Never heard of that, we do it all the time, only thing is you can not push pull with all 3 scrapers hooked up the middle scraper has got to let go of the lead scraper before the 3rd one starts cutting

thanks for reply.
anywhere from 2" to 6" comfortably for 620 series, 3" to 8" for 630 series and probably 4" to 12" for 650 series. It depends how good you are too!!

why don't they use ecscavators and lorries to make this channel?

@corsakias Most of north america uses scrapers to do the majority of earthmoving mainly because its more cost effective than using hoes and rock trucks. The material is better suited for scrapers, however, when it does get too muddy or rocky or the haul distance becomes greater than 1000ft (300meters) hoes and trucks will move dirt cheaper.
