  • This song is one of my favourites - I grew up listening to Val Doonican. Thank you for putting this song. It brings back some beautiful memories...

  • Val Doonican, Jim Reeves was all my mum used to play in the house on the radio-gram growing up, awesome silky smooth voice's, running around the back garden on a orange skied summer evening, drinking home made lemonade as a kid.... sweet memories

  • @sarbani67 Me too, I pity the kids of nowadays, who have to listen to music that has totally lost all innocence. xx

  • Just realised this was my first ever gig :). my mum and dad took me and my sister to see him, Got a signed photo too.

  • Well made a grown man Cry . . .Women Never understood them

  • @RenKinRaM Me too. Here in England, we were not allowed to listen to the Beatles, Rolling Stones or Tom Jones - rough, naughty boys. The beautiful sounds of Val and Kim Reeves, soft golden tones and the wonderful smell of my darlin mum cooking and humming in the kitchen and the laughter and excitement when my dad got home from work. The 1970's were our golden years. Our mum's and dad din't have 2 pennies to rub together, but we were so happy.

  • reminds me of a long ago love

  • I don't get this. I don't get, at 49 years old, that this song speaks to me, and brings me tears, just like it did when I was 14. Oh, screw it, it makes me so fulfilled and happy. Soft as poo.

  • Love Val Doonican! even at the age of 24 =D

  • I remember this song - it is so beautiful and reminds me of my childhood

  • Wonderful Lyrics
