Deus Ex - Nonlethal Walkthrough - Liberty Island (1/3)

In my Deus Ex walkthrough, I attempt to finish the game without making any unnecessary kills or exploiting any serious bugs. I will try to make full use of YouTube's video annotations.

This part takes us up to the north dock.

Q: Why does the video occasionally skip and then the music and health UI reset?
A: I am segmenting the video in unimportant places to reduce the number of mistakes you'll see in the video without consuming too much time on retakes or detracting from the video.

Q: Why are some of the textures flickering in the distance?
A: Not sure. It's just a minor graphical anomaly.

Q: What is that colour scheme?
A: Starlight.

Q: How are you capturing and encoding the video?
A: I capture with Fraps and then encode with AviSynth & MeGUI. The basic specs are x264 2-pass 2048kbps (turbo), Nero AAC 128kbps ABR. Please don't ask me to teach you how to use them.

Is the GEP gun the rocket launcher you use to get into the ship in part 2? Coz I chose the crossbow :) Need to find more lockpicks if I can't get this weapon later on.

@FibrousAcquiescence Yes, the GEP gun is the rocket launcher. As a fellow YouTube user pointed out, you can also gain access to the ship by pushing a nearby explosive barrel towards the hatch and then shooting it, assuming it still exists.

I just got my hands on The first Deus ex title, I played on realistic difficulty and wanted to go non-lethal, my my I am getting my ass handed to em' at the first level!

So do you think Manderly told Gunter to get captured on purpose as part of the test? I kind of think myself seeing as he could had an EMP barrier installed before you have to fight him .

man i played this game when i was a youngster, back in 2000, now that i played Deus Ex Human Rev. on the Ps3 i came back to this game and the developers at eidos made a really good job bringing back the original Deus Ex gameplay, nice work for them.
