What is the best calcium for children?
There's a lot of parents out there that are very concerned with their children's health and that's a very good thing. But, there's a lot of misleading information that are straying these parents in the wrong direction and I am going to dispel all myths today.
Now, we hear a lot milk is really good for kids because during the period where kids are adolescents, they're children, they are growing at a rapid rate. In turn, they need a lot of calcium to build the bones. Well, that's actually true. Yes, they do need a lot of calcium to build bones. But, calcium from milk is very misleading. It is not a good source of calcium to build bones. I'm going to give you two facts and you can judge for yourself.

  • ever thought about changing your name dude no offence

  • @marcluc1988 How come some people are lactose intolerant and others are not? Those who are not have clearly got a mutation that makes them able to digest lactose.

  • @brutsi Humans have only been drinking (digesting) milk as adults for around 10,000 years. That's not long enough for us to have evolved to digest it.

  • @Danthemanlyman7 75% of the population are lactose intolerant. I.e. they're allergic to milk. Nothing to do with access.

  • What about coconut milk?

  • How did people in Europe get their calcium, during the winter, thousands of years ago?? I would like to know if our ancestors had to become calcium-deficient during those harsh times..

  • I get my calcium from tons of spinach and mixed greens, and tahini (sesame seed paste). 2 tablespoons of tahini has 300 milligrams (30%) of your calcium for the day! A cup of milk has 350 milligrams in a whole cup. Most yogurt has even less...

  • That's because other animals don't have easy access to milk past infancy. When they do have it though, they drink it. Btw the digestion problems I've had with conventional dairy are nonexistent with raw dairy.

  • Number one "fact" is a very poor argument. Just because we are the only ones that drink another animals milk is not a reason that it is bad. Of course that milk was not designed for us to ingest, but was the cow designed for us to ingest? I dont think the cow is edible on purpose, we have just evolved to be able to digest its meat. Just like alot of people, especially in the western world have evolved to digest milk as adults

  • Raw milk for the win!!
