  • @rcschumann This workout was his final before the start of his 3 YO season on the 17th at, I believe, Aqueduct for the Gotham Mile. Sec foaling date was 3/30/1970. Yes, I am aware of his turf workout prior to the MOW. Nack has said that his workouts had old-timers scratching their heads i.e stakes record times in workouts. I agree, like NO other.

  • @tigerboy1966 ......are you a complete idiot or what?...two different tracks and 32 years apart and you're comparing that??...Please shut up now before all your credibility is shot

  • @bbmtge I didn't read that article, but that's 10.8 seconds a furlong for three furlongs, before his third birthday! People make a big deal when a sprinter or miler makes one sub 11 clocking in a race. Sec made three such clockings in succession in a workout, and he was still a juvenile! You must know about the monster 0:56.8 5f he did on turf shortly before the MOW. That's G1 sprinter speed, and he still had a 12f race coming up - he wasn't even at TC capacity. A horse like no other.

  • @rcschumann By the way...there is an article in the SI vault by Nack. Sec worked out at Belmont on 3/14/1973. He posted a time of 32 and 3/5th's for a 3/8th's mile workout. Great article.

  • @rcschumann The only reason I finally posted the fractions is that this cmf character would not relent with post after post of his fantasy. No need to delve into that area as, per your comment, Sec displayed an unequaled level of raw power and stamina...never before, never since. AND, without exerting himself. I agree with you comepletely...the best ever.

  • @bbmtge Thanks for clarifying Sec's Belmont. For a while I used to think that Sec ran negative fractions in the KD as well as Belmont, but it was actually only in the former. So this horse accomplished three distinct and unique feats in the TC races: in the Derby he ran those awesome negative splits and set a time that still stands; in the Preakness he made that frightening move round the first turn, and in the Belmont he displayed miraculous raw power and stamina. The greatest.

  • @cmf4321 Let's see you post Sec fractions in the Belmont. I did, and it comepltely debunks your fantasy. So...post the fractions, yourself. Did you see the tote board...46 1/5th...1:09 4/5th's...1:59...2:24??? Did you read the DRF or Whitney Tower's SI article on the 1973 Belmont??? You see...that's what is called research as opposed to "google it, look it up" with no ability to back up a claim. Learn a bit of logic before making a fool of yourself. My bet is...you won't.

  • @cmf4321 You see, IRRATIONAL people make unsupported claims. They, further, when shown the facts over and again, either refuse to respond or continue with their irrational stance. You have done both. In essence, you can't support your claim and nobody is going to change your mind with the facts. Now...run along to another Sec video and post your fantasy.

  • @cmf4321 Of course. It's your choice to ignore the facts and live in a fantasy world. you haven't been able to counter with facts that support your CLAIM. So, as before, you choose to run away. Anyone whose position was based on fact would have posted Sec fracitons as I did. You, not only, were unable and unwilling to grasp the initial concept as to the slower second half of the race but now, as predicted, you ignore the acutla posted, per quarter, and cumulative, racing fractions.

  • @bbmtge I only have one word in response to you...immature. No further response is necessary. I'm not interested.
