  • lol @ an actor saying that about modern martial artists, especially the part about martial business

becoming a sport was the best thing that happened to martial arts, it showed what is real and what is not

modern combative sports proved that a real fight between two real fighters looks nothing like the kung fu movies

  • LOL "Your soul is mine"

    The real Shang Tsung.

  • @JuJuGatame modern combative sports do not show what is and isn't real. the techniques were developed to work in combat with intent to kill. techniques may be seen now to not work for perhaps two main reasons: they cant be used because the intended speed and power to pull them off would make them actually work and result in death, and also that 'modern combatants' are not masters. at all. you can't roll for a few years in your local bjj gym and take some muay thai and think you're a master.

  • @phauna

soccer is a sport that created for completely different reasons as compared to martial arts. you cannot compare them, or the way they should be practiced.

  • This guy is so wrong. Learning a martial art should be like learning to play soccer. No need for belts or military style discipline, lol at becoming a doctor to learn MA.

  • he describes the essential problem of the martial arts outside of asia. positiv shaping of the students Charakter can also be a Healing... think about it..

  • Cary Hiroyuki Tagawa is the friggin man. One the most underratted actors ever. Not only is he a true martial arts expert, but he's a really funny dude even when he isn't trying to be. He's a freakin inspiration and I've seen most of his movies. He's awesome.

  • haha! I didnt realize who he was untill he did the Mortal Combat thing.

    cool interview.

  • he is an amazing person as well as a martial artist. he is such an inspiration.

  • Cary Hirotuki Tagawa makes the worlds greatest Shang Tsung.
