As pre-service teachers we recognize the positive attributes of all three schools of Constructivism: Cognitive, Radical & Social. Knowledge may be seen as unchanging Truth which we internalize (water is H2O), external stimuli which we absorb and interpret in our own unique way (I experience water in my life differently than everyone else) as well as a reality which is socially constructed (water is a commodity to be bought and sold or is a sacred substance to be revered). Leaning towards Social Constructivism we will guide our students to discover knowledge through awe as well as through cooperation and critical thinking.
