Republican presidential candidate Governor Buddy Roemer presented A Town Hall Event as part of the College of Charleston's "The Bully Pulpit Series: Reflections on Presidential Communication."
Roemer served as Governor of Louisiana for four years in 1988. He was elected to four terms in the United States Congress from 1981-1988. He currently serves as the founder, CEO, and President of Business First Bank, a small business community bank with approximately $650 million in assets.
"The Bully Pulpit Series: Reflections on Presidential Communication" asks the individual presidential candidates to speak with students and Charleston community members on such topics as the frequency of press conferences, the candidate's relationship with journalists, and the power of the president to persuade. This non-partisan series is a joint effort of the College's Department of Communication and the Department of Communication Advisory Council.
