Premiered on 28th of March 2009 in the State Theatre of Saarbrücken
Marguerite Donlon's revised version of the ballet classic focuses on moments of emotional anguish and void as well as moments of intoxicating and blissful happiness. The contrast between Tchaikovsky's ballet music, performed by the state orchestra of Saarland, and the soundscapes of the composer duo Sam Auinger & Claas Willeke, created especially for this piece, are also of central importance.
Marguerite Donlon's «Schwanensee - Aufgetaucht» was entitled «premier of the month» in the magazine "Ballettanz" of May 2009.
