He was turned down. It was sad and I haven't spoken to him really since then. He has absolutely no friends, he's cut them all off. Hes isolated in his house and leaves once a week. Hes obviously depressed, and hes getting older. Gut hes *actually* recently been showing signs of some stability, which is great. Hes apologized for things and he never did these things before. Hes realized the impact of his behavior to other people I believe. He's *extremely* intelligent and I hope he succeeds.

You are all **wrong**. I know Chuck and he knows all of the personality traits needed for success. He's been recovering from alcoholism since 2010 and he has an extremely hard time, He *already* had a hard time before the alcoholism, but now he needs professional help because of the lack of neurotransmitters like Dopamine... We were about to get him set up with Hauser and Wirth, a new gallery opening in NY. They were interested, but he got inpatient and made us give them an ultimatum and...

Connelly is a multi-faceted painter, capable of realism, surrealism, impressionism, any in a variety of styles, which is the true definition of an artist. The doc is fascinating and though it comes across that Connelly has not always done himself favors in relating to the business aspect of the art world, at the same time I can certainly understand a resistance to those who have more of an opportunistic mindset as opposed to a genuine appreciation of art and artists.

I just saw this documentary on Ovation. I can't draw a straight line, but found this intriguing.

Chuck Connelly is one of a kind ! He's a great artist. I'm an artist too. There's a possibility that he's using UTube to create a kind of film or an enactment.?He has a typical artist lifestyle, my father my brother myself are all artists. My father drank, I don't but the life is hard on your spirit because you are the target of the success and failure too! Artists are insecure, they doubt themselves. We're just trying to mirror our souls our feelings.I would buy a Chuck Connelly fast ...

And maybe Connelly should drink less and get his shit together. Anger has a way of unraveling a career. Just sayin'.

I went to school with Kostabi at CSU Fullerton. He had established his assimilation-of-Leger-as-a-marketing-tool aesthetic early on. That was the late 1970's. The rest is an unimaginative, though obviously lucrative, history.

An interesting comment, which is a rarity on youtube. I always thought of Mark Kostabi as an unoriginal tool maker. Whereas Chuck despite being the obviously superior painter of the two, doesn't understand the finesse required for lasting success.
