Damon Albarn WROTE a lot of Elastica songs and gave them to Justine after Blur rejected them. The best of the songs ripped off Wire and The Stranglers so it wasn't much of a gift!

@DoYouSmokePaul Blur +Elastica had the same PR man, it was always rumoured Damon wrote the first Elastica album but I doubt thats true. He certainly plays on some tracks,credited as 'Dan Abnormal' (anogram of his name). Damon also helped jam out the Elastica sound in early rehersals, playing bass. I remember he said after they split "I did so much for her!" (implying he really helped her career). I was personally a big fan of Justine +Elastica, I saw them live twice and I met Justine +Donna too.
