Trout are a cold water fish, which means that in summer they are hanging out deep in the lakes. In order to catch them, you need to get your lure down to where the trout are. We've tried some other approaches in the past for summer trout fishing but we haven't had much success. This year we tried using bottom bouncers. The idea was to spend less time worrying about what depth we are fishing at and just let the bottom bouncer keep the lure about a foot off the bottom. It turned out to work really well for us and here are some clips to show how successful it was.
