i dont know the whole story... or i should say,i dont know any of the story. but, judging from the video he did a 180 degree autorotation and possibly over shot the turn and in the process used collective to ckeep aloft, when RPM bled ofthe helicopter settled and the skids took the brunt of it.
did the skids bend? looks like they did. it didnt seem like he landed it THAT hard, then again its hard to tell from a video. what did he do wrong? i'm just asking because i start heli classes in 3 weeks.

helicopter skids are designed to bend out like that in a hard impact in order to help cushion the impact.
