Today we are going to show you part number TH515 from Thule. This is their Prologue bicycle rack. What it was designed to do is mount on top of your factory roof rack. Before we put our bars onto the factory cross bars you can take a few seconds to actually move these up and down to get the width that you want and then when you are there you just tighten them down by turning the base like a handle. Then just set it on top of the factory cross bar. We have got our Thule cross bar here and then our bottom plate will go underneath the factory cross bar and then in our bolts. Sometimes you have to thread them in to go through. What is nice about these bolts is that they have got a little button on the inside that keeps you from using a conventional torques bit from taking them off so it actually has a little bit of security built into the head of the bolt. To tighten those bolts it comes with a special tool made for the occasion. Do not lose this tool. Just get them started and then just center the bar the way you want it and then snug them on down. Repeat on the other side of this bar and also the bar that goes towards the back of the vehicle. 01:29

Go ahead and start setting the rails for the bike into place. You can move these in and out as you want. Put them on the inside or the outside, however you prefer. We will just do it on the inside here. Starting with the back go ahead and put our plate on and the two knobs. We just want to get these started. You may have to move it back and forth a little bit. Now lets go up to the front. On the front it is going to get another clamp that is going to go the opposite way and it is going to go up this way. Just put that on there, pull the rack forward a little bit. On top it has got a formed plastic piece so what is going to happen is inside there you are going to a lock washer, one of the nuts that looks like a tube, it in place and just get it started. There is one other side to do too. We have got the driver side started so now lets go over to passenger side and do the same thing one more time. Once you get the bicycle rack sitting on the rails the way you want it, go ahead and snug down all of the attachment points. 03:12

We are getting close to the end now. Go ahead and put our locking skewers up front here. What is going to happen, take this nut off and install it. Go ahead and put the nut back on the other side. Going back to the straps for the back wheel on the bike go ahead and take the spacers that protect the rims a little bit. Just slide those on. The last step is to go ahead and install the lock cores, pop off these little plastic covers here and take our core and install our core key which allows us to install it. When you have the core fully installed go ahead and pull the key out and we are ready to use it. The bicycle rack is completely installed now, lets go ahead and load up a bike. Do the back wheel first and then the fork. Once you have got the fork mounted, go ahead and take the handle and just pull it backwards and that will clamp down and lock it into place. Once it is clamped go ahead and lock it. Moving on to the back wheel, go ahead and adjust your strap, pull it on through, cover up our rim, put it back through the buckle and it has got a nice ratchet assembly to it and just under a minute we have got our bike loaded up and it is ready to go down the road. With a few easy steps our bicycle rack is installed and our bike is secured. There you have it for part number TH515 the Prologue from Thule.
