Seven weeks after the earthquake that devastated Haiti, a volunteer team of medical personnel from UMDNJ-University Hospital spent a week there, and found that while the immediate emergency had passed, the needs of the Haitian people for ongoing care was profound. Despite the hardships there, the team also found that the generosity of spirit of the Haitians they met and treated was extraordinary.
Speaking about their mission to Haiti, in order of appearance, are: Asha Bale, MD, Mona Nelson, RN, Jhoselyn Thomas, RN, Cathy Blaskewick, APN, and Emilia Wawszczyk, Emergency Department RN.
