My raps on the beard hold it so sparks and chips don't burn it and also hold it down more than sticking out. I don't have to stick my face close to my work because of my experience and super good eye glasses. If I feel the need I can fold it in half and add another quick slip band. I thank you for the concern and for the comment. I hold a healthy fear, while running equipment and machines. ;{)-----

Great Vids Keith! Hey, do you think it would have been worthwhile grinding a small radius at the tip of that boring bit since cracks love to start at sharp corners?

Are those custom angle plate for that job? I just bought my 1st Horz. mill (K&T) and it opens up so many more milling solutions to problems just like your job. Your videos definately show how much thought you put into your setups. Great job!

Those were a set of old angle bars that I picked up, in one of my tool collections, keep them on a shelf, for such jobs... You can make alot of your tooling right on the mill its self, also gives you practice...

This translates to "a beard is not wound onto the spindle?", which I think is asking about the safety of Keith's "beard tail". Keith?

You are right on the money. Older small block intake on Throttle Body Injection heads. GM began offering them in '86, and they were in full production by late '87, ending by '96. Started phasing them out in '93 with the introduction of Vortec system. These TBI engines averaged 300,000 miles before major repair. Great engines.

Man, that is sweet! I have drilled out 40 or 50 of these by hand over the years, and always hated to do it. You turned a shadetree job into a true conversion.

I just discovered your channel a few days ago and have watched more vids than I ever have on here. Thanks for taking the time to teach us old farts a few things. Great videos.

Pure genius, from the way you clamp the job down, to the way you cut the metal, I'm loving your videos.
