Tsem Tulku Rinpoche's VERY IMPORTANT teaching given in 1998.
The heart of Buddhist wisdom in eight short verses, elucidated by a fearless pioneer of contemporary Dharma.
Unconditional love and freedom are here and now if we let go of self-centred obsession and let ourselves be embraced by WHAT IS.
The very life we are living, with all its difficulties, failures and frustrations, can be the road to liberation. The world can be our school of transformation. Everybody becomes our best friend. We become our own best friend.
Deeper and deeper, from learning to cherish all beings as precious, to realising that those we perceived as enemies are our supreme teachers, the teachings in this book take us, into our innermost heart where we discover that we are the light we have been longing for.

People with heavy delusions are out of control, they do not have the wisdom to control their delusions. We should not react back negatively we end up only increasing theirs and our delusions. As spiritual aspirants if we do not consider to their situation and their sufferings, this shows how strong our self cherishing is.

We practice the dharma when we are away from our guru , when we are challenged , when we are away from our mediation cushion . When something nasty happens, or when we get abused , or we get opposed this is when we start to do our dharma practice .

The story of the war where the Sakya clan was involved is a clear example of what happens when the Karma starts to manifest, once karma starts manifesting there is no force on earth that can stop it. And the Sakya princes karma was manifesting so despite them being close to the Buddha they died at the end of the battle, though they were not wounded or killed by the enemy.

Enlightenment is free of the 8 worldly concerns so practicing the dharma with the 8 worldly concerns will never be a cause for liberation.

In this talk Rinpoche emphasizes that since we are doing action in relation to the dharma, we should attempt to get the maximum benefit by having the correct motivation and do those actions with concentration and focus.

It is definitely more beneficial to collect merits than karma. As merit is focused towards enlightenment , when we collect merits in future lives we will have good bodies and environment to support the cultivation towards buddhahood.

If we do anything without the 8 worldly concerns we are able to have happiness this life and future lives.

Any actions still motivated by the 8 worldly concerns will only yield karma which is exhaustible.

We take Refuge sincerly, it will help to avoid being reborn in 3 lower realms, as 3 Jewels will always there protect us.....Practising Dharma helps us to overcome alot of obstacles, and also train up our mind......Since now we already in Samsara, why dont we practise Dharma to at least has a change to stay away from Samsara?

You practise Dharma to avoid Samsara (continuos suffering) yet at the same time liberating the beings from going to Samsara...This we should take to heart, just like Buddha and Cherenzig (Guan Yin), they are taking suffering upon themselve cause Buddha want to liberate all sentient beings from suffering. The main word here is Boddichita .......meditate on it you will get the answer.....
