Very thoughtful comments by ny28tx (Rehan Sahib). Amazing. In Punjabi culture friendship or "Yaari" among men some times takes precedence over every thing. At least once it used to be so. In this film (and as per the comments), this phenomenon seems to be existing in females as well.
One of the most popular wedding song for a long time. These days I see groups of young boys and girls singing at weddings "Sehra Saja Kay Rakhna".

To me, this is one of the top thirty best movies ever made in Pakistan. The story revovls around eight characters: Aslam pervaiz - Bahar, Durpan - Shamim , Nayar -Durpan and most importantly Shamim Ara and Nayar Sultana (two sahalis). The strange twist of the story is about Nayar sultana giving up her husband (durpan) to save her friend (shamim Ara)'s life and happiness. i know its confusing but you must watch the movie to appreciate its Crafty Dilemma of choosing friendship over marriage.

I bet all the female playback singers of that time must have envyed Naseem Begum for her songs for this film. Its like one super hit after another. After desan da raja this was the most popular wedding song, even till now and both are by Naseem Begum.
