I don't like the first technique. As an opponent scared of falling I would probably grab/hold anywhere I could, including the neck/face in that case. Could go very wrong.

@TheDivafnk Judo is very fearsome, no denying that. Especially on asphalt. But I guess you will agree, that the modern (mainsteam) judo is nothing compared to the traditional Kodokan or even what Jigoro Kano and some of his direct disciples taught. Just think of Joshi-goshinhō. Anyways, I wish you a great training.

@FinalKenny2 Judo is a martial art. I've been a long time aikidoka, and now judoka, jujutsuka. Judo is making my aikido better, and vice versa. I used to hear the "judo is a sport" meme all the time, and sorry, it's just not true.

Nice!! Awesome :) Been an apprentice of apprentice, for me the hardest thing on Koshinage is getting my center below Uke's, in most of the cases (in our Dojo), Im the tallest... in this video Nage is taller than Uke but the technique is so well done that is not a problem XD God!! I have so much to learn!!! NICE!!! :D

Judo and wrestling are sports. This is a martial art. Never forget that. It's just difficult for non-Aikidoka to see and understand a kata and what is happening exactly. Therefore there is allot of flaming going on.
As said, this is way easier on bigger people since their center is higher.
In fact I know many budo martial artists who took up Aikido to get a better feeling at Judo, Jujutsu etc. and ended up being mainly Aikidoka.
All the throws in this vid have your back to uke's front. Are there koshinage variants where you and uke are back to back?

There are such throws. They're a bit tricky to do, and uke lands on his feet.

It's aikido AND judo :)
Many techniques in aikido are found also in other Japanese martial arts. They have a common origin.
