i was exchanged to Germany exactly 40 years after this. I'm so jealous of those who were in the audience!!!! But I wouldn't change my experience for anything :P Yay AFS!

JFK was & will be a VISIONARY & GREAT STATESMAN ! For all his faults & flaws, He epitomed HOPE, GOODWILL, and MORAL LEADERSHIP which the world looks up to and still hope for in their own countries and the whole world.

Yes, I was lucky to be sitting with my 3,500 fellow AFS's on that July 18th, 1963. I heard those words fron JFK and, four months later, back home in Spain, I felt the pain of seing him shot to death.
